An Empty Nester Leaves Home

I now live by the sea in Dorset!

It's thrilling to be in Bridport finally and a little daunting to be the new girl in a new community.

When I last moved to a new city I had two kids to hide behind at the school gates... You can’t avoid being absorbed into the meet ups and play dates.

But, the kids have flown the nest, finding their own adventures which, I guess means as a parent, I’ve done a good job.

And here I am, settling into something I've thought about, imagined, and even tried to manifest for several years.

When you reach a goal do you give yourself time to celebrate or do you find yourself jumping to what's next? or even doubting your decisions?

Not having to worry about settling children into new schools and helping them make new friends is freeing but then I feel daunted and vulnerable, I AM the new girl!

Can you relate to finding your new identity for this new phase of life? Or perhaps, yearning to reconnect to who you once were. Rediscovering your likes, dislikes and maybe surprising yourself with a gutsy fresh joy for living!

I've found that people can be so welcoming and anyone who's ever experienced a sense of not belonging doubly so.

So, if you are feeling lonely -you're not alone! Dip your toes into a class, group or club and see how it goes.

I'm reminded of my days being new to yoga, trying several different classes and teachers before finding a good vibe for me. As a grown-up, You have full permission to try something and say nah or Yaay.

The meaning of YOGA is to yoke or union. Union of body, mind and your spirit and that we are not separate from each other. We all need and deserve love, kindness and peace .Wherever you encounter a sense of connection and permission to be you is worth investigating.

My live Zoom classes start in September, offering a deep focus on ways to increase flexibility, strength and improve your breathing to aid midlife issues like anxiety, brain fog, fatigue and empowering you to be YOU!
